E.A.D.T. – Saturday, 28th July 1900 – ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION – The annual entertainment and distribution of prizes in connection with the Ipswich Endowed School for Girls took place on Wednesday, 25th July, at the Lecture Hall. Despite the intense heat, parents and friends were large in attendance. The pupils, all dressed in white, occupied tiers of seats on the platform, which was prettily decorated with flowers, and the view presented from the body of the hall was charmingly bright and interesting. The afternoon began with a programme of solos and concerted pieces conducted by Miss Marian Harrison, Music Mistress with Miss Emily Alice Carey at the piano. The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. John Henry Bartlet, introduced the Head Mistress, Miss Emily Harrison, and Miss M. Burton, who had kindly consented to distribute the prizes. The afternoon concluded with the singing of “God Save the Queen.”
